Community Liaison Group
Ensuring clear communication between developers and our community.
The Seashell Transformation Project Community Liaison Group (CLG) was created in October 2020 by Seashell Trust in relation to the various construction projects surrounding the Trust’s campus. In setting up the CLG the Trust recognised the impact that such construction activities could have on the local community and its near-neighbours and so wished to set up the CLG to act as a more formal channel of communication between all parties in order to ensure activities, plans and issues are shared and communicated on a timely basis.
The purpose of the CLG is to act as a forum for conversation between the developers (across the various projects) and members of the community through their elected Councillors. It is not in place to discuss the planning process but to act as an overview meeting to provide updates and ensure communication is flowing.
Meetings take place as often as required (initially quarterly, now bi-monthly – subject to availability). The minutes of every meeting are published to this site. Meeting dates are included within the minutes.

Where can the public find the minutes of these meetings?
Meeting minutes are finalised and then uploaded to the Heald Green Ratepayers’ website to ensure transparency for the village. They cover updates on site operating hours, traffic management (e.g., the number of lorries per day), and social value updates.
What kind of practical issues does the group address?
Recent topics have included:
- Construction traffic and haul road applications.
- Site operating hours (typically 7:30 am to 5:30 pm).
- Environmental impacts like mud on roads or anti-social parking near development sites.
