There has been a lot of misinformation shared in recent years about the work of the Community Liaison Group (CLG). Much of the misinformation has involved speculation around what the group does.
For clarity:
The Community Liaison Group is a group established to facilitate communication between local residents through their elected local councillors, project developers and stakeholders because of the building work that was taking place.
Its purpose is to ensure timely updates and address community concerns about the building work that is in progress.
The group was not set up by councillors; it was set up by The Seashell Trust because of the building work that was taking place on its site and in surrounding areas.
There has been comment made about the group being representative. There is no decision making in this group, it has no say in future developments, it has no power. Its purpose is to deal with issues like mud on the roads and other practical, operational day to day issues. Nothing else.
